Will I experience detox symptoms?

If you’re on or about to get started on your reset, you may be wondering if you’ll have any side effects. Why worry? Because you’ve probably heard or read many different things when it comes to cleanses but to better understand what kind of reset you’re embarking on it’s important to know that this type of reset you are on is an anabolic cleanse that can help detoxify the body by reducing caloric intake, yes, but not nutrients. Something to keep in mind is the following: Detox symptoms show your cleanse is working. That is great NEWS!!! Detox symptoms may be part of the process. They are completely normal. Keep in mind that the benefits you will get from this rest will be extraordinary! If any side effects, they won’t last for long, 1-3 days. Many don’t experience any. But if you do there’s a good reason. In the world we live in, we are constantly surrounded by toxins, air pollution, and chemicals from the food we eat and the products we use.


Doing a cleanse will not only purify your body but will also allow you to change bad dietary habits and achieve greater health. You will notice that the food tastes better, your digestion is more efficient, less bloat, better control of your habits and so much more. All you need to do is trust the process, which takes some time and effort but it’s well worth it.


The more toxic your lifestyle is, the more toxins your body needs to release. This is a sign that this cleanse was much needed and that you are on the right path. When your body eliminates toxins, it's almost like you can feel it…while the toxins circulate in your bloodstream.

Here are some symptoms you may experience. To best navigate through any possible symptom please reach out immediately. I will personally coach and guide you through.


1. DIFFERENT ELIMINATION PATTERNS


Constipation or diarrhea, more urination

Constipation. This is probably because you are eating way more fiber than usual and drinking a lot more water. Fruits and vegetables contain high amounts of fiber, while meats and dairy contain none…That can be a huge change for certain people. And eating more fiber stimulates the digestive system and encourages more bowel movements! At the same time, peeing more often is a great sign which means you are eliminating more toxins. Better to get them out the having them in. Keep in mind that your gut bacteria (who are responsible for digesting the fiber) need some time to adjust to the new food you are providing them. On the other hand, if you are limiting solid food and you don’t drink enough water, you may experience constipation. This is why it’s very important to stay hydrated during your cleanse.


2. BLOATING


The goal of this program is to eliminate bloat and balance out your gut microbiome. More fiber encourages the growth of good bacteria, which can provoke more activity in your intestines. Remember to chew your food carefully, this will start the digestion process. Remember that anything that you don’t chew properly, your stomach will have to do it for you! Eat slowly to avoid swallowing air… when your intestines are not able to move the air efficiently, it provokes gas and bloating. The best way to avoid gas and bloating is to have healthy flora…and this is exactly what you are working towards.


3. NAUSEA


If your diet consists of low-carb, high-fat diets or fast food dieting. Your body may take a few days to adjust to the high-quality dense nutrition. Nausea can also be caused by a large number of toxins circulating in your blood. This should pass after a few days…Stick to your programs since it's precisely meant to balance everything out. The more consistent you are the sooner you will feel better.



4. HEADACHE


Headaches are usually caused by the withdrawal of caffeine. Caffeine puts a burden on your detox pathways and slows things down. That’s why if you are a heavy coffee drinker it’s time to start cutting back. This usually lasts 2 days and can be quite intense for heavy coffee drinkers. Therefore I always recommend weaning off caffeine slowly. It’s okay if you want to enjoy at least 1-2 cups of coffee but remember to enjoy that coffee after your greens. Once the toxic waste is liberated from your tissues, it circulates in your body before being eliminated. These toxins are felt like poison and can cause discomforts such as headaches or migraines but again just for the 1st 3 days. If any, remember not everyone experiences this.



5. FATIGUE


Being tired at the beginning of your cleanse is normal.

It can be caused by the liberation of toxins or an increased metabolic demand…You would think that eating healthy food would give you more energy… and you are right! But detoxing from caffeine, sugar, and fatty foods can cause you to go through a few rough days before you feel energized. After those 3 days, your energy should rise, and you will feel awesome!
